The opening is a marine accord (bergamot meeting neroli in a way that smells genuinely briny) paired with persimmon for unexpected sweetness. We found this one performs beautifully in summer; it never feels cloying even in heat, which is rare. The patchouli base is subtle—not earthy or heavy, but rather a green, almost herbal grounding that keeps the aquatic notes from floating away. This is a fragrance that feels like motion, like standing in wind.

The marine and aquatic notes are what make this tricky to formulate. Standard alcohol concentrations tend to wash them out or make them smell synthetic. Our ratio here emphasizes the bergamot and neroli in that opening 10-minute window so they read as genuinely salty-fresh rather than just "clean." The persimmon rounds out what could otherwise be austere, and it's noticeable—sweet enough to give the composition warmth but never fruity or cloying.
