Blackwood Estate Coconut Wax Candle
Blackwood Estate was designed around the atmosphere of a place rather than a single note — specifically, the quiet authority of a well-kept estate: shaded groves, old wood, and a certain coolness in the air even on warm days. Fresh lavender and geranium open with a green, almost botanical clarity that sets the tone without going floral. Warm mahogany arrives at the heart with a smooth, polished depth that anchors the fragrance, before cedar and earthy wood close everything into a grounded, unhurried base that feels genuinely lived-in rather than manufactured.
We chose coconut wax for this fragrance because woody and earthy scent profiles benefit enormously from a slow, even burn — the kind that allows the cedar base to develop gradually rather than rushing to the surface the way it tends to in faster-burning wax types. We also find that coconut wax holds the nuance of a mahogany heart note better than soy: the result is a more dimensional fragrance that changes meaningfully as the candle burns down. Poured into our matte white glass vessel with a double cotton wick, it fills medium to large rooms with a subtle, lasting presence — the kind of candle that doesn't announce itself, but that you'd notice immediately if it weren't there.

Candle Care & Safety
We want every candle to burn cleanly, evenly, and safely from the first light to the last. Before each burn, trim the wick to ¼ inch. That small step helps control the flame, keeps the wick from flaring too high, and gives the wax a steadier burn.
For the first burn, give your candle enough time to settle into an even burn pattern without trying to force a perfect full melt pool. Our larger 13 oz candles usually do best with about a 4-hour first burn, while our 10 oz and 12 oz candles usually need closer to 3 hours. Because we use coconut wax, a little wax hang-up on the sides of the jar is normal, especially during the first few burns. As the candle burns lower and the glass warms more evenly, that wax will usually catch up.
Never burn any candle for more than 4 hours at a time.
Always place your candle on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface, away from drafts, open windows, fans, curtains, books, bedding, and anything else that can catch fire. Never leave a lit candle unattended, and keep it well out of reach of children and pets.
Let the wax and vessel cool completely before moving your candle. Discontinue burning when about ½ inch of wax remains at the bottom of the vessel. This helps prevent excess heat from building up near the base.
Please review the safety label on the bottom of your candle for any additional instructions.
